BENDING Solution Pack: software solution for bending machines

The pack comprises the following applications:

PRODUCTION DESIGNER
VPSS 3i BEND

The prototyping flow initially involves assigning sheet metal attributes to 2D and 3D drawings and saving them in a database using AP100 EU and PRODUCTION DESIGNER.

By uploading part lists to VPSS 3i BEND, tooling, bending sequence and, if possible, a common layout to reduce machine tooling setup times will be automatically analysed.

The interface is simple and intuitive for users to make any manual changes. 

The developed production plan will be saved in a database and called up by the machine using the specific bar code reader.

IMPORTING AND DEVELOPING NATIVE 3D FILES

PRODUCTION DESIGNER lets the user import and convert the main native formats of 2D and 3D CAD drawings (SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Catia V5, ProEngineer, Step, Iges) in sheet metal.
By recognising special processing (such as forming, inserts, bend reliefs), the CAD system can be used to create attributes for the CAM environment. 
The AMADA bending algorithm is used to calculate development, but dedicated bend allowance tables can also be created.

PROCESSING OF AUTOMATIC MACHINE TOOLING

VPSS 3i BEND can be configured based on customer needs.
This enables the customer to associate the use of dies and punches for each material/thickness to process.

MANAGING THE BENDING TOOL LIBRARY

VPSS 3i BEND considers an AMADA die magazine divided by tool families.
The exact quantity of sectionalised lengths for each type of die and punch can be configured.

PART FEASIBILITY CONTROLLED BY THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

VPSS 3i BEND has a feasibility control system to alert the operator in the case of alarms or warnings concerning part processing. So the operator can make changes using a simple, user-friendly interface.
