IoT/ Industry 4.0 Product Engineer

 

This is a new, permanent full time position based at our Head Office in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Division for an enthusiastic and driven Engineer with strong ICT and computer skills

The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on expanding our IoT Support/ Industry 4.0 structure for customers.

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

This will be a product-focused role. Networking embedded PCs across internal intranets and the internet for support purposes and to control the operation of sheet metal processing machines.

The ideal candidate will get involved in all product stages:

Promotion: in house shows, site visits, marketing

Implementation: technical requirements, feasibility studies, installation, training

Follow up: fault-finding, technical support, customer care, data analysis, developing processes and procedures

Supporting the hardware and ICT element of Amada machines

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

An interest in hands on Engineering and understanding of machinery operation and fault finding

Previous experience in IoT, Remote Support and Industry 4.0 products would be ideal

A solid understanding of computer networks (IPv4, DHCP, Firewall, Routing, RDC/Remote technologies)

General PC hardware and Microsoft software skills essential

Previous experience on a manufacturing/industrial environment

A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving

Ability to build customer relationships,

An understanding of product promotion, business acumen and marketing awareness

Good planning, prioritisation and administration skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team

A flexible and customer focused approach

 

This role will regularly involve working at customer sites across the British Isles and occasionally in mainland Europe, sometimes at short notice.

These sites can vary from small single machine sites to large multinational manufacturers. This position will require some work on factory shop floors.

Flexibility drive and commitment will be key qualities.
