Ernst Meck GmbH from Nuremberg has been successfully asserting itself already since 1851: As a traditional perforated sheet manufacturer and metalworking company with an eye for new developments, the medium-sized company handles the entire range of sheet metal processing. From construction to production to project management, the company Ernst Meck manufactures for internationally acting major customers as well as for smaller regional customers who want to obtain material or support for their own ideas and implementations. Recently, the company was able to expand its areas of application and thus be more accommodating to its customers. What factors were necessary to achieve this? The company Ernst Meck decided to turn two important set screws.
The first step was to expand the machine park to meet the production needs for processing special formats and different thicknesses, also often of thick sheets.
"We are known for the production of perforated sheets with an additional focus on sheet metal processing. In order to develop further in these areas and to be future-oriented, we have invested in new machines. The aim is to strengthen the Ernst Meck company furthermore and to emphasize the competence 'sheet metal processing from one source'. In addition, we are of course always keeping an eye on the general progress of the Fink Group" explains Daniel Fink, Managing Director.
Florian Gebhard, sales representative at AMADA adds: "Yes, for the expansion of the previous areas of application, Ernst Meck GmbH needed a machine for the widest possible range of operational areas. Especially for the handling of thicker material thicknesses an appropriate press force is required".
Fink nods: "Correct. A powerful tonnage was important to us. We wanted to be able to process heavy sheets in large format now. The larger opening height of the AMADA machine and also the sheet follower [SF75, AMADA's comment] were both important criteria for us. The work should become easier for the operator. That is why the HFE3i-4005L won the race".
Ernst Meck was able to achieve another point with the use of the VPSS3i software solutions. Compared to the competition, the optimal design of the virtual production environment is a success factor. The new machine comes in a package with the VPSS3i BEND software. This makes bending tests superfluous, errors can already be avoided in the run-up to production, and the planning and handling of the production process overall is as fast as lightning. A particularly important aspect: The external programming helps to minimize downtimes notably. All that is needed is to import the 3D model and the automatic mode of the software generates the unfolding, the bending program and the set-up plan within a few seconds.
