AMADA successfully concludes its European welding tour

A significant debut: nearly 300 customers attended AMADA’s first European Welding Event

AMADA announces the successful conclusion of its first European Welding Event, a key milestone that brought together nearly 300 customers from across Europe at the newly established Welding Technical Center (WTC) in Italy. Held over eight days between late September and early October, the event welcomed representatives from 163 companies and marked an important step in AMADA’s strategic expansion within the welding market.

A VISION BUILT ON TOTAL SOLUTIONS

One of the key themes was the concept of total solutions, showcasing how AMADA’s software and technologies for cutting, bending, and welding can be fully integrated to optimise the final welded product. This approach highlighted the strong synergy among AMADA Group’s European entities, with AMADA Machinery Europe and AMADA Weldtech also present to introduce additional complementary solutions.

In a market where finding skilled labour is becoming increasingly challenging, automation played a central role throughout the event. Fully automated cutting systems with part removal, robotic bending cells with automatic tool changers, and robotic welding systems equipped with AI functionality demonstrated AMADA’s leadership in addressing this need—streamlining operations and supporting operators with varying skill levels.

Participants had the opportunity to follow the production of two components through the complete process chain: from programming with the VPSS 4ie software suite, to cutting with the fully automated EML-AJe punch/laser fibre combination machine and the VENTIS fibre laser, and on to bending with the fully electric EGB-ATCe press brake equipped with an Auto Tool Changer and a fully automated robotic bending cell. The workflow concluded in the welding area, where the FLW-Le and FLW-ENSISe robotic fibre laser welding systems completed the parts.

Both FLW systems feature AMADA’s proprietary beam weaving technology, enabling high-quality welding across larger part gaps and significantly reducing or eliminating the need for post-processing — an important benefit particularly for sectors such as HoReCa and medical. In addition, the FLW-ENSISe system integrates AMADA’s exclusive ENSIS beam shaping technology, ensuring high-quality welds even on components that would typically require filler wire in traditional MIG/TIG processes, thereby reducing overall production costs.

"This inaugural event represents an outstanding success and reinforces our vision for the future of manufacturing,” said Luca Moia, CEO of AMADA Italia, during his opening remarks. “With an approach built on integrated solutions, we support our customers in improving their entire production process. The strong response confirms the value of our total solutions strategy and gives us additional momentum toward our long-term goals.”

The AMADA Welding Technical Center, inaugurated at the end of October 2024, has already welcomed numerous visitors from across Europe and beyond, further strengthening AMADA’s commitment to supporting customers in their journey toward greater efficiency, digitalisation, and competitiveness.
